How to Cook Texas Barbecue Ribs

However, you need to buy slabs of pork ribs so that your Texas barbecue ribs are as genuine as possible. A couple of two pounds slabs of ribs is good enough. And don’t worry, a two pounds slabs is not that big. Since the idea is to make the experience as authentic as possible, you need to comply the minimum requirement.

Before grilling the ribs, wash it with cold water first and dry the slab using a piece of cloth. Once completed, prepare some vinegar and some salt to baste the ribs afterward.

Now, let’s get our BBQ set ready…

Prepare some lids to cook your Texas Barbecue ribs in your BBQ ribs. Rule of thumb, to cook one slab of ribs normally requires 2 pounds of charcoal. Once you’d place the coal unto the barbecue grill and lit it on, wait for few minutes to make sure the coal is thoroughly lit before spreading them across the bottom grills evenly.

Although you’d spread the coal evenly across the bottom of the grill, start placing the slab of ribs on the side of the grill away from the coal to prevent it from burning. Make sure you are placing the ribs side up.

Then, close the grill and let it stay close for about 50 minutes. After that, open the grill back and rotate the ribs and baste them both with vinegar and salt mixture. Close the lid again and wait for another 20 minutes.

After that 20 minutes, open the lid and put barbecue sauce on top of the ribs. Before you think you can eat the ribs, close the lid back for about 15 minutes to get charred ribs.

Remove the Texas barbecue ribs from the grill if you think it starts to look charred already. Put barbecue sauce on the ribs again and wrap it tightly in tin or aluminum foil, before putting it back to the grill for another 30 minutes.

Then, the ribs are ready.
So, enjoy your delicious Texas barbecue ribs….
